Bioinformatics as Minor subject
Bioinformatics is an emerging field of study that primarily uses Computer Science / Information Technology to unravel the mysteries of nature by processing and analyzing biological data especially in the knowledge domains of genomics and proteomics for the ultimate betterment of humanity. Bioinformatics is already impacting the science and technology of a wide range of fields, including pharmaceutical, medical, agricultural, energy, environmental sciences as well as healthcare. The curriculum is outcome-based and industry-oriented, and includes both the necessary theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in the field. Students who participate in this program develop the analytical thinking and problem-solving skills required to make a seamless transition from the classroom to the workplace. Additionally, the program offers solid computer programming skill sets that enable the development of tools, databases, software and algorithms.Bioinformatics is an emerging field of study that primarily uses Computer Science / Information Technology to unravel the mysteries of nature by processing and analyzing biological data especially in the knowledge domains of genomics and proteomics for the ultimate betterment of humanity.
