The Department of Information Technology at Sri Pratap College is committed to providing quality education in Information Technology and computing through a combination of strong theoretical foundations, practical learning, innovative teaching, and exposure to emerging technologies. The department aims to develop technically competent, analytical, and innovative professionals capable of applying computing knowledge to real-world problems.

Undergraduate (FYUGP)

Offered under the NEP 2020 framework, IT is available as a Major and Minor discipline. The programme follows a multidisciplinary and skill-oriented approach, covering computing, programming, software development, databases, and networking.

The curriculum provides a progressive understanding from fundamentals to specialised areas like Python, C programming, Data Structures, and DBMS, enabling computational thinking and problem-solving.

Postgraduate (M.Sc. IT)

Our two-year M.Sc. Information Technology programme provides advanced exposure to contemporary and emerging technologies.

The curriculum dives deep into Data Structures & Algorithms, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Network Security, Cryptography, Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Deep Learning, IoT, and Research Methodology.

The department seeks to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application by encouraging students to develop programming, analytical, computational, and problem-solving skills for careers in the rapidly evolving IT sector.
